Academic Network Sleep Medicine
In the Academic Network Sleep Medicine, we deploy the combined know how of Kempenhaeghe, Maastricht UMC+ and CIRO, expertise center for chronic organ failure, to help patients with breathing-related sleeping disorders.
Interaction sleep and other disorders
Many disorders influence the quality of sleep. The Center for Sleep Medicine has at its disposal specialized know-how of the interaction between sleeping disorders and other disorders. Specifically, there is a longstanding cooperation with Radboudumc in the field of Parkinson’s Disease and sleeping problems.
Knowledge transfer to family doctors and psychologists
To be able to face the large influx of patients with chronic sleeplessness, Kempenhaeghe currently takes the lead in the development and organization of a solution for this serious situation. We do so in close cooperation with associations and cooperations of first line care providers, such as family doctors and psychologists.
Cooperating with patient associations
We value our ties with the apnea association and other associations related to sleeping disorders, such as the Association for Narcolepsy, the patient association for Kleine Levin and the Restless Legs Foundation. Specialists of Kempenhaeghe have a seat on the medical advice board of multiple of these associations. We are also happy to contribute to (joint) patient days and information sessions.
