Referring to the Center for Neurological Learning and Development Disabilities

Do you treat children or youths with a neurological disorder who – possibly- are also dealing with a learning, behavioral or developmental disorder? The Center for Neurological Learning and Development Disabilities of Kempenhaeghe can offer added value.

We combine the expertise of pediatric neurology, clinical neuropsychology and neurodidactics to get a broader perspective and gain insight in the capacities and the learning potential of the child.

As the child’s medical specialist, you are an important partner, with whom we like to work together and share our findings. It is usually the medical specialist who refers a patient to our center.

Following the receipt of the referral, the patient’s parent will receive an invitation as soon as possible. After the diagnostic investigation we will inform you of the results and refer the child back to you.

Letter of referral

When referring your patient by letter, please include the following in your letter:

• The patient’s complete personal information
• The reason to refer the patient to us
• A description of the patient’s history, if possible with results of previous diagnostic investigations
