Functional MRI
Using MRI examinations, the doctor can see if a possible brain deviation may be the cause of your complaints. Using a functional MRI (f-MRI) the doctor can see which part of the brain is active or in rest during certain tasks.
Lying in the MRI scanner you will be asked to perform certain small tasks that yield information about the brain area that controls motor functions and cognitive functions such as memory, language and planning. In a small number of patients, the f-MRI is combined with an EEG examination. This is called an EEG-fMRI.
Preceding the examination, you will receive detailed information – also personally - about the course of the examination and the practical things you must reckon with.
